Pioneer XDJ-XZ
The Pioneer XDJ-XZ is a unique because it's an all-in-one with multiple USB ports and an ethernet port. Setting up and using Now Playing will depend on where you put your music and how you have your computer network setup. This guide will help most of common setups.
Standalone mode + ProDJ-Link
Export your music and playlists to a USB stick as normal.
Connect your computer to your router / switch. Connect your XDJ-XZ using a LAN cable to the same router router / switch.
Install Now Playing on your computer and start it up. It will automatically start in ProDJ-Link mode.
Performance Mode + Rekordbox
Connect your XDJ-XZ to your Rekordbox computer using a USB cable. Install Now Playing on your Rekordbox computer. Connect your Rekordbox computer to your router.
If you're using a separate computer for streaming, install Now Playing on it too and connect that to your router.
Start Rekordbox in Performance mode.
Start Now Playing.
Changing Track Update Timing
By default Rekordbox will send Now Playing updates after you play a song for 60 seconds. To change this go to Preferences > Advanced > Browse, then change the Playback time setting.
Note: You must upgrade to Rekordbox 6.6.8 or higher for this setting
Note: Now Playing's internal fastest update is 10 seconds. Meaning setting Rekordbox to less than 10 seconds won't make it any faster than 10 seconds.
Link Export Mode + Rekordbox
Connect your XDJ-XZ to your router using a LAN cable. Connect your Rekordbox computer to your router. Install Now Playing on a separate computer and connect it to your router.
Note: You cannot use Now Playing on the same computer as Rekordbox when you're using Link Export mode because they will conflict.
Start Rekordbox in Link Export mode then start Now Playing.
